Giai Phap Xanh provides solutions that are sensitive to Vietnam living environments. We exploit the unique renewable alternative energy sources of the country to enable modern life style that is sustainable.
We consult, develop, import, distribute and market solutions that generates energy for small (residential) and midsize scale (commercial, industrial buildings, small community) from the renewable energy sources available in Vietnam.
Since accessible natural resources, economic conditions and energy demand in one project are different than in another, we help our customers to design the optimal system for a set of unique requirements.
We are 100% Vietnamese company with contributors from the US, Europe and Vietnam having expertise in the following renewable energy sources:
SUN
Vietnam is a country with very high exposure to sun light. Solar energy can be harvested at high efficiency in southern and central areas (within the 23 degree from the equator) at average 5-6KWh/m2 and 4-7 hrs/day.
The following solar energy harvesting applications can be deployed in Vietnam by Giai Phap Xanh:
SOLAR THERMAL APPLICATIONS
Solar energy heats up water for using in household and industry. Heated water can be stored in tanks to be used later. The high efficiency of our solar thermal system bring water to just below boiling temperatur (90 degree C) on sunny days. With overcast sky, the system still can deliver 70 degree C hot water to the storage.
PHOTOVOLTAIC APPLICATIONS
Electricity, generated by photons from sun light striking Solar PV panels, can be used directly to drive machinery (water pumps, motors, etc.) and electrical devices such as electronics, lighting fixtures, etc.. Since grid connected systems are not common in Vietnam due to regulations, electrical energy can be stored in battery banks for usage at night when sun light is not available.
LIGHTING APPLICATIONS
Sun light can be tunneled throught reflective pipes to parts of the buildings that have no direct exposure to daylight. Advantages of sun tunnels include saving of energy cost and provide comfort of daylight spectrum. At night, the built in bulbs provide light from the same panels.
WIND
Since Vietnam has a long coast line and many windy islands, wind is good and consistent energy source at 500 - 800 kWh/m2/yr inland and 860 - 1.410 kWh/m2/yr in the coastal and off-shore regions.
The wind energy can be directly used for mechanical works or converted into electrical energy:
WIND MECHANICAL APPLICATIONS
Wind energy can be used to drive directly waterpumps, mixing equipments and other equipments. Basically wind mechanical energy is useful where no consitent drive is needed.
WIND ELECTRICAL APPLICATIONS
Electricity, generated by generator driven by wind, can be used directly to drive machinery (water pumps, motors, etc.) and electrical devices such as electronics, lighting fixtures, etc.. Wind electrical energy is a good complement to solar photovoltaic panel in some areas, since wind can be available at any time during day and night.
WATER
Vietnam has widespread availability of hydro power through out the country. There are large and small rivers in the delta with strong tide to waterfalls, creeks in the highland areas. Estimated hydro electrical power potential is 2000MW with many small 10MW/site plants
HYDRO MECHANICAL APPLICATIONS
Water speed (> .5 m/s) can be used to directly drive machinery. People have been using water flow for many purposed in the agracultur since ancient time. Modern equipments exploit better energy from water current. Tidal current may be slow, but can be exploited using large water wheels.
HYDRO ELECTRICAL APPLICATIONS
Electricity, generated by generator driven by water current, can be used directly to drive machinery (motors, etc.) and electrical devices such as electronics, lighting fixtures, etc.. Hydo electrical energy is a good source of energy where water flows is consistent and available at all time such as small creeks or waterfalls in the highland.
BIO
Vietnam produces and exports agricultural products. There are good biomass resources (600,000 tones/yr of rice byproducts, sugar cane, coconuts, etc.) that can be used as alternative energy sources in small scale.
BIOMASS FOR HEATING PURPOSES
Byproducts such as rice hulls, coconuts shells can be burned to generate heat that can be used to drive steam engines that in turn can generate electricity or pump water. Environmental impact from CO2 is not a concern because burning biomass generates as much CO2 as the biomass has taken in through its life time.
BIO DIESEL, BIO GAS, ETHANOL
Thank to its climate and weather certain crop can be grown very efficiently to be used to produce bio fuel. Examples are sugar canes to make ethanol, grains not suitable for human consumption to make bio diesel. Almost universal can farmers produce bio gas from farm waste for small scale usage and at the same time help to minimize the expose of waste to the environment.
EARTH
Vietnam is on the world geo thermal map with a considerable potential of 400MW (compared to Japan with 458MW). Geo thermal energy can be used both to heat and to cool in large or small scale. We provide solutions that make use of geo thermal energy to save cost for residential and commercial applications.
GEO THERMAL HEATING APPLICATIONS
In many area in central Vietnam, geo thermal heat can be exploited at a high degree in shallow depth of 10 - 30 meters. Steam generated by geo heat sources can be used to drive electrical generators and heated water can be used in household and industry. In other areas, heat can only exploited for building heating purposes in central and northern Vietnam, however deep drilling (up to 100m) is needed.
GEO THERMAL COOLING APPLICATIONS
At a certain shallow depth, the temperature in the earth is constant. By choosing a depth with a temperature that is 5 to 10 degree C below the average hot season air temperature, we can cool the building to a comfortable level.
